Environmental Impact Assessments

The micro climate chapter of an EIA will include assessments for daylight, sunlight and overshadowing, light pollution and solar glare.

Often within a master plan development or for large scale developments, the local authority will request an EIA. We at eb7 are able to produce the micro climate chapter of the EIA.

The directors have experience of producing EIA’s for some of the largest developments in the city of London.

At eb7 we have developed a unique and efficient analysis method for assessing light pollution. This includes using state of the art software and night time surveys using high definition imaging techniques.

Over the past year we have developed and perfected an assessment and guidance for solar glare which is due to be published later this year. We are the leading analysts and developers of this little known yet important assessment.

As well as daylight and sunlight within EIA’s we produce detailed overshadowing assessments both for permanent overshadowing as discussed within the BRE guidelines and Transient Overshadowing used as a descriptive process
